When the torch was passed from John Horine to John Miller, it was Miller who cook the already
successful Middletown girls soccer program co unparalleled heights. Middletown went 203-42-5 during Miller's coaching reign from 1987 through 2002. The program won three state titles and rolled off 13 straight MVAL tides from 1988 (the first year of the girls soccer league) through 2000. His program added a 14th MVAL crown in 2002. Miller was a two-time state coach of the year and the 1996 NSCAA National Coach of the Year. Middletown became the county's first girls soccer state champion in 1990 and first back-co-back soccer state champions with tides in
1999 and 2000. Miller coached 14 all-state players, many of whom went on to NCAA college soccer careers.
