Kevin McMullen’s boys soccer coaching career greatly impacted two Maryland Counties — Anne Arundel and Frederick. Between 1978 and 1991, he guided programs at Brooklyn Park, his alma mater, and Broadneck to six county titles and four regional championships. He arrived at Thomas Johnson in 1992, and turned a 2-10 program into a conference champion the very first season. In his three seasons at TJ, the program twice reached the regional semifinals.
He opened Urbana High School in 1995, where he served as boys soccer head coach and athletic director. His teams were county finalists in 1998, 1999, 2000, 2A West region champs in 2000, region finalists in 2001 and 2002 and county champions in 2002. He retired as a high school coach with 210 career victories. He finished his coaching career as the men’s soccer assistant coach at Mount St. Mary’s University from 2004-2008.
