Ken Swomley

Swomley, a native of Emmitsburg, was a three-time College All-America selection (1962-1964) and four-time All-South and All-Mason-Dixon Conference performer while representing Mount St. Mary’s. e left wing was labeled by long-time Mount coach Jim Deegan in 1980 as the best player to ever play at the Mount, where he graduated in 1966.

In high school, he led Emmitsburg’s soccer team to a county runner-up finish in 1960 and a county title in 1961. He was a star player for the school’s back-to-back baseball county championship squads in 1961 and 1962. After his college career, Swomley played 10 seasons in the Mason-Dixon League, spending time with Middletown, Emmitsburg and Frederick.
