Dan Court's playing career in Frederick County spanned three decades, and he remains one of the most decorated players to hail from Frederick High School. The four-year varsity starter was a three-time all-county first-team selection (1984, 1985, 1986). He was Frederick County's high school player of the year in 1986 and a first-team all-state selection. He played for club state power Bethesda Wizards.
In college, he played for Davis & Elkins' NCM Division II nationally ranked program, reaching a ranking as high as No. 2 in 1987. He served as Davis & Elkins' assistant coach in 1992. He has been coaching on the high school and/or club level since 1991. Still, he remained a player in the Mason-Dixon Soccer League and Maryland Majors until 2008.
