Kathleen Vistica-McFarland

One of the most lethal finishers in Frederick County high school history, Vistica weathered an injury-plagued college career to deliver an amazing senior season. At NCAA Division I Miami University (Ohio), Vistica led the Mid-American Conference in scoring in 2006 with nine goals and six assists. She earned first-team all-MAC honors and was named the Mid-American Conference Player of the Year. She also collected CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine All-District IV First Team and Academic All-America First Team honors.

Before arriving at Miami, Vistica torched the local soccer scene, scoring an area-record 85 career goals as a four-year varsity player at Urbana High School. Along the way, she set Urbana school records for goals in a season (33) and assists in a season (22). She was an all-state selection in 2001 and 2002. She was honored as the Frederick News-Post Offensive Player of the Year in 2000, 2001 and 2002 and picked up Washington Post All-Metro second-team honors in 2001 and first-team honors in 2002. She played club soccer for Frederick United, where she helped her team to a State Cup title and a USYSA Region I runner-up finish in 2002.
