Jackson Eskay, by playing parts of two seasons with the Richmond Kickers in USL (Division 2 in the U.S. soccer pyramid beneath MLS), reached the highest professional playing level of any Frederick County male player before or since. He’s a former two-time high school all-state selection while playing at Urbana where he helped the program to a state final appearance. In college, Jackson led William & Mary in goals scored in his sophomore and senior seasons. He tallied 17 goals and 16 assists during a career where he played 72 of a possible 74 matches, missing only two games as a freshman. He was a two-time All-CAA selection. A career highlight came in 2013 when he netted the gamewinning goal as William & Mary upset then No. 1- ranked North Carolina. He also scored in the NCAA Tournament that year in William & Mary’s match against George Mason. He was a four-time CAA Player of the Week honoree during his career. Jackson was part of FC Frederick’s inaugural NPSL squad and holds the team records for assists in a season and career. He signed a professional contract in 2016 and played the 2016 and 2017 seasons with the Richmond Kickers, where he appeared in 22 matches, scoring one goal.
