Mitch Ruben

Rubin holds the distinction of being the only person to serve as head coach of both boys and girls state title-winning teams in Maryland. He guided Thomas Johnson’s boys to a state title in 2006 and followed that with a 2010 state title with Oakdale’s girls. During a 20-year high school head coaching career, Rubin’s teams went 233- 79-21 with six region titles, six region runner-up finishes, nine conference titles and three Frederick County championships.

He has been named Coach of the Year eight times by five different organizations. Rubin also has served as a local club coach for Frederick Excel, FC Frederick and Alliance; and spent time as the head coach at Shepherd College, as well as assistant coach at Winthrop and Mount St. Mary’s.
